Request For Correction of Article
The National Tax Service(NTS) of Korea would like to request for a correction to the Feb. 20 article "Leaders ask Bush to stop unfair trade, save state jobs." The NTS would specifically like to bring your attention to the part that reads, "South Korea, one of the most closed auto markets in the world, protects its domestic industry, critics say, by such intimidating practices as launching tax audits of Koreans buying foreign cars." The NTS wishes to clarify that not a single tax audit was launched of a Korean by reason of having made a foreign automobile purchase, nor will there be any plans to do so in the future. Therefore, the said portion of the article deserves adjustment to best reflect the fact and prevent readers from being misled. The NTS would like to formally ask for due clarification and correct reflection of the fact in your upcoming edition. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.
Best Regards,
Kong Yong Pyo
